At today’s Breakfast Forum members were treated to a real breakfast, and a tour of the Ampco Manufacturing plant. Most people think that Ampco is just a printing company – but not so!

Host Dann Konkin regaled us with the history of Ampco, which started as Ad-Print Markings Ltd. in 1967 by Dann’s father Tom, and grew to what is today a multi -million dollar revenue generator. Ampco Manufacturers Inc. was formed in 1974 to service the Class 8 heavy truck market, designing and manufacturing durable labels, decals & nameplates for Kenworth.

While touring the facility Dann showed us some of the many the certificates mounted on the wall, including those of 10 PPM quality standard for the past 15 years!  Also highly visible was his BC Safety Charter, on the wall in the lobby of the building.

Dann enlightened us to the world of digital printing and durable label making, as well as nameplates, membrane switches, rubber keypads and more of Ampco’s varied products.

Thanks to Dann for hosting us in this very informative tour!
