Ben Hume Leadership Award
2021 Nominations are now OPEN for the Ben Hume Leadership Award. Awarded at the Safety Pinnacle Awards Gala, this award recognizes a BC Safety Charter signatory who demonstrates exemplary leadership.
Members of the Executive Health & Safety Council of BC are invited to nominate a fellow signatory who is actively involved in the Initiative and who demonstrates key leadership qualities.

Award Process
Nominations close April 6, 2021. The Ben Hume Awards Committee will review all submissions and make their decision by the middle of April.
Nominees will be contacted to alert them that they have been nominated. To avoid brand risk both to the nominees and to the Executive Health & Safety Council, the committee will ask permission to do a check with WorkSafe BC to ensure the nominees’ companies have not had a serious incident in the past three years. The committee will also ask for an internal contact at the organization (not the nominee) who can answer follow-up questions.
The former recipient will present the award to the new award recipient each year. The top three finalists will be profiled with a biography on the MSABC website. They will also be interviewed on camera with a videotape of the interview being made available on the Executive Health and Safety Council of BC’s website. All 3 Finalists will be invited to attend the Gala where the Award Winner will be announced.
